Pit Bull Attacks & Kills Chihuahua in Brigantine

On September 4, 2011, a pit bull escaped from its home and ran onto a local dog beach in Brigantine, New Jersey, where it attacked and killed a Chihuahua, according to a report by the Press of Atlantic City.

The fatal pit bull attack took place on a stretch of beach at 14th Street North where the city of Brigantine allows dogs on leashes.  The Chihuahua was on a leash and was being walked by a young woman from Philadelphia who was vacationing in Brigantine.  Unfortunately, she was unable to stop the pit bull’s attack until her dog was already badly injured.  The injured Chihuahua was taken to the Red Bank Animal Hospital, where it had to be euthanized as a result of its injuries.

Hopefully, the New Jersey Supreme Court will hold that people, like this Chihuahua owner can recover for damages as a result of witnessing their pet being attacked and killed by another dog.

If you or someone you know was attacked by an vicious dog or animal you need to take care of your physical health immediately and then consult New Jersey Dog Bite Attack Lawyer as soon as possible. New Jersey laws can limit the amount of time you have to take action, so you need to act quickly. There may be no such thing as a bad dog, but even the best dogs can cause excruciating and traumatic injuries.
